Let your
creativity and skills flourish in northern Thailand while teaching media
literacy!
Gap Year
Volunteer Role
Thailand is
developing at a rapid rate meaning that the digital age is becoming more and
more a part of the culture. The media industry continues to grow and entertain
millions as Thailand’s youthful generation remains up to date with the latest
forms of technology and media, from social to creative. However, this is not the
story across the whole of the nation as many individuals in more
underprivileged areas miss out on this opportunity to express their creativity
through these diverse and rapidly evolving forms of media. With your
assistance, knowledge, experience and creativity we hope to address the issue
with this unique programme.
On arrival
to Thailand you will be welcomed by the in-country team who will run
orientations on culture, media teaching, and classroom norms. A team member will also monitor and provide
support for your programme from the first introductions with partners to your
final day.
This programme is extremely unique as you
will be part of our existing programme to teach media literacy to local students. Based upon your skills and experience you
could be leading and assisting with teaching
four to five hours per day. There will be a curriculum draw up by the in country team which could include various
tasks, such as running activities, one-on-one sessions with students, technical
support, joining for field trips, and more.
Gap Year
Experience
Beyond the
project, the location also poses as a perfect setting for anyone with a
creative mind as the lush green surroundings and lively local culture offer an
all-encompassing unique experience. The people you meet from curious school
children to Buddhist monks offer a multi-cultural experience that is
fascinating and fun to get to know. This
is an incredible opportunity to gain invaluable experience overseas, work and
learn from a media professional, and work with our partner schools to spark new
creativity and passion in the students!
Prior media
experience is not required but is definitely a positive. Our partner schools
& temples are extremely excited about this program for their students and
this is a very unique opportunity to provide these children with the platform
to express themselves and tell their own stories!
