Hi, I'm Jeremy. I grew up in Newbury, Berkshire. Big Tottenham Hotspur fan, and a keen follower of current affairs and global politics. During my gap year I spent June/July 2013 in Tanzania on a GapGuru volunteer teaching project. I also went on a safari, and climbed the famous Mount Kilimanjaro. Currently studying Economics at Lancaster University.

It was on April 24th this year that I received the Briefing Pack for my upcoming programme in Tanzania. Whether GapGuru actually intended for me to receive it on my birthday, I doubt. Nevertheless, the excitement that I got from reading all the details about my homestay and volunteer placement, made it an amazing birthday present! By this point, my preparations were well underway. My flights had been booked in March, along with travel insurance, and I had fully paid the programme fee.
